What’s the difference between Acne & Pimples?

In simple terms, Pimples, also known as Zits are just one infection of a single pore. Acne is several infections in various pores.

As you can see, Acne is a common term; it can combine whiteheads, blackheads, pimples and so on. There is no big difference between acne, pimples, zits, etc. They are different words but they are almost the same thing.

In other words, Acne is just a lot of pimples together. Pimples are individual breakouts where as if you get a lot of them and they keep coming back, that is acne. So, Pimples are periodic, and acne is a chronic condition. If a person, break out every so often, then it is pimples, but if that person stay broke out it is considered acne.

For more severe acne, which is nodular or cystic acne, you should seek advice from a dermatologist. But, please keep in mind, whatever you do, DON’T pick your pimples, because it will leave scars.

How many times you should wash your face?

We see questions very often, about how many times someone with Acne, needs to wash his face, so we decided give some tips here.  Face wash

Normally, you never should wash your face, more than 3 times a day. But if you are taking retinoids like Accutane, you probably already have a pretty dry skin, and washing 3 times a day would really further the dryness. While on Accutane your skin stay very sensitive and the fast wash may irritate your skin if you wash more than 2 times a day.

We would suggest maybe just throwing a little water on your face when you first wake up then if you workout for example, just take a shower and really wash your face with face wash. If you don’t workout, just wash at night. Remember, excessive washing will cause dryness.

How many times a day you should moisturize?

Moisturize in the morning and at night. But if you sweat too much, you can try moisturize only once by day. We can suggest you, Cetaphil cleanser to remove the makeup and Cetaphil moisturizer or even Nivea anti-shine in the end. You can buy this stuff at drug stores. But please remember, Cetaphil in some circumstances, could also cause breakouts if you use it more than twice a day.

Acne is killing your Social Life?

Probably you have horrible acne and it is killing your social life or affects your Self Confidence. Almost all your friends constantly tease you about your acne, call you ugly names and criticize you all the time?

First, let’s clear up one thing. Your friends shouldn’t make fun of you, merely because you have acne. What kind of friends are they? Does acne make you feel ugly?

Yes, acne will take away a little from your looks. Evidently people will notice it but most people could care less. Personality and confidence is much more important than your complexion. It’s true; the only thing that makes you truly ugly is a lack of confidence. Looks are irrelevant, if you have confidence people will be drawn to you.
