There are many products in the market, for the treatment of acne, but much of them without scientific evidence of its effects. However, in many cases the combination of treatments can greatly reduce the severity of acne. It is highly advisable to consult a dermatologist before starting any acne treatment.

The many forms of treatment for acne that have proven effective are:

Kill the bacteria that are housed in blocked follicles – That is done using antibiotics or treating the affected areas externally with bactericidal substances. However, the bacterium P.acnes reduce not diminish the secretion of oil and abnormal behavior of cells, which are the initial cause of blocked follicles. In addition, the antibiotics are becoming less effective as bacteria resistant are more common. Usually acne reappears after the end of treatment – sometimes, after days or weeks of topical application in the case of oral antibiotics.

Reduction in the secretion of oil glands – This is done through oral daily consumption of vitamin A derivatives, such as isotretinoin, for a period of several months. The isotretinoin has proved very effective in treating severe cases of acne, which has been in effect longer period than the anti-bactericides and usually permanently cure acne. However, treatment with isotretinoin requires careful medical supervision because it has shown side effects, some of them quite serious.

Skin exfoliation – This can be done mechanically or chemically. Exfoliating chemicals with salicylic acid found in products like ClearPores, encourage the peeling of the top layer of skin preventing the accumulation of dead skin cells, which along with the oils of the skin, contribute to blocked pores. This also helps to unblock clogged pores.

Hormonal treatment – In women can be improved with the acne birth control pill combining estrogen and progesterone.

Finally, what should not be done as a treatment for acne?

Popping pimples should not be attempted by anyone other than a qualified dermatologist. The danger of picking pimples is the infection can spread and cause a permanent scar.

If you are one of those persons who are afflicted by the occasional breakout, not to mention the appearance of larger pores, blackheads, and all that stuff that comes with acne, we have some hints for you:

- With 15 dollars or less, you can buy a blackhead extractor – they look like metal pens.

- A great home made toner is apple cider vinegar. Just mix 1 part vinegar to 1 parts water. It helps for blackheads and red marks that zits leave behind.

- You can use baking soda as exfoliator – be cautious when applying it to your face, since it is a very efficient scrub. Massage the baking soda into your skin for 10 to 15 seconds and wash. A good exfoliant will smooth your skin because it removes the dead cells to reveal the newer ones underneath.

- You should eat foods rich in Vitamin A and Vitamin B, as even a small deficiency in these vitamins can cause oil skin. Zinc also helps heal your skin. Try to drink plenty of water. Avoid too much chocolate, sweets or fatty foods. Although foods can’t cause blocked pores, it can cause flare-ups because it causes the inflammatory reaction. You need to test diverse foods out to see if any affects you.

- Most likely, you don’t want to buy products, but it’s simpler than making your own. Tee trea oil is just as effective as benzoyl peroxide, without the horrible side effects and is great for spots and blemishes. Also, ClearPores is a full solution to treating the acne from inside and outside, for both men and women looking for rapid, unmatched method to get rid of acne.
